A swift read and an enjoyable debut, Stacy has laid the pathway for an interesting series set in the Saxon Mercia. I'm a fan of books set in this period and this one builds the world well, the sights and smells of the times evoked, intertwined with a core of well rounded characters to both root for and despise. I look forward to seeing how Stacy takes the story forwards, and what destiny he has in mind for his heroes.
