Jason picks up right where Argo left off, with Jason and his crew aboard ship, their prize safely on board.
As with Argo, the first instalment in the series, the main thing that shines through is Mark's knowledge of both ancient Greece and the legend of Jason. Through the eyes of our protagonist and his crew, we are painted an exquisite picture of what it might have been like to live in these times, to face the hardships of those that came before us.
There is quite frankly a ridiculously large cast to this book, but throughout the story I never felt lost or out of place, and you get just enough detail of every character to get a handle on them and a feel for what drives them.
Put this together with a nicely paced plot, and what you get is a really well done, immersive historical thriller. Bring on the next one!
